Rent Terms

Version 1, in force from 30 Oct 2026

In short

  1. 01

    Version and language

    Version 1, 30 Oct 2026.

    This English text is the binding one. The Hindi and Tamil texts are translations for convenience.

  2. 02

    Who these terms are between

    These terms are between Truckandbus Technologies Private Limited (CIN U63120KA2026PTC227607), which runs Truckaurbus ("we", "us"), and the people who use Rent on Truckaurbus ("you"): the lister who puts a machine on rent (a dealer, a hire company or an owner) and the hirer who asks for it.

    They add to our Terms of Use (truckaurbus.com/terms) and our Privacy notice (truckaurbus.com/privacy). Where they differ about Rent, these terms decide.

  3. 03

    How you agree

    • A lister agrees by ticking the box at "Put your machine on rent". We record who agreed, which version, in which language, when and where, and we ask again when a new version comes into force.
    • A hirer agrees by sending an enquiry. The line beside the Send button says so and links to these terms.
  4. 04

    What we do, and what we never do

    • We show machines on rent with the lister's own rate and terms, and the going rent nearby as a guide. We pass a hirer's job to the lister.
    • The hire is a contract between the hirer and the lister, on the lister's terms as shown on the listing (the rate, the operator, diesel, bringing the machine, the advance, breakdowns, idle and rain days) and anything else they agree between them.
    • We are not a party to any hire. We do not hold rent, advances or deposits. We do not set or cap rates. We do not supply, employ or vouch for operators. We do not insure the machine or the job.
    • We do not guarantee a machine's condition or its hours, a payment, an advance, a replacement after a breakdown, idle or rain days, diesel, or that either side turns up.
    • The going rent is a guide from the rates we count, never a price we set.
  5. 05

    What a lister promises

    For every machine you put on rent, you confirm that:

    • it is yours to hire out: you own it, or its owner has authorised you;
    • its papers, its insurance and, where it comes with one, its operator's licence are valid while it is on rent;
    • the listing is true: the photographs are of that machine, the hour meter reading and its date are real, and you will honour the rate, the terms and the free dates you show;
    • you keep the free dates up to date, and take the machine off when it is no longer for hire.
  6. 06

    What a hirer promises

    • The job you send is true: the site, the dates, the hours and the work.
    • You use the machine lawfully and safely, as agreed with the lister.
  7. 07

    Listings, checks and enquiries

    • We may check a listing before or after it shows (its papers, its hour meter, the lister), ask for more, and dim, remove or refuse it. A listing whose free dates are not confirmed dims and then comes down.
    • When a hirer sends a job, the lister sees the job but not the hirer's number. The number is shown only when the lister taps "Take it". We share a hirer's details with a lister only in this way.
  8. 08

    Fees

    • Listing a machine is free.
    • Taking enquiries is free until 31 Mar 2027. After that, dealers and hire companies pay ₹300 + GST for each enquiry they take, from their organisation's prepaid balance under the Prepaid Balance Terms. An enquiry they pass costs nothing. Owners with one or two machines stay free.
    • We may change these fees. We tell listers at least 30 days before a new fee applies, and a fee never applies to an enquiry taken before it.
  9. 09

    Disputes between a hirer and a lister

    A dispute about a hire (hours, diesel, a breakdown, payment, damage, an operator, a no-show) is for the hirer and the lister to settle between them. We can show what was listed and what was asked, and we may remove a lister or a hirer who misuses Rent.

  10. 10

    Our liability

    Section 8 of our Terms of Use (Liability and indemnity) applies to Rent, including its cap and your indemnity for a false or unauthorised listing. In particular, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss from a hire, a machine, an operator, a payment or a dispute between a hirer and a lister.

  11. 11

    Law, disputes and contact

    • Write to us first at [email protected]. We reply within seven working days and try to settle it with you.
    • These terms follow the laws of India. If we cannot settle a dispute with you, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka decide it.
